#2884 fixed simulation doesn't keep going um_support zliu
Description

Hi,

I submit a UM 10.7 job on Archer. The suite ID is u-bi068. The job has run ten years successfully, but not keep going. From the suite control GUI, the simulation just waits for housekeeping. And housekeeping failed in every year for this suite. Could you please help me to solve this problem? Thanks.

Best regards, zhen

Hi,

I am trying to run GA7.1 simulation for the period of 1993 to 2012 with the suite ID u-bo910. But the simulation gets stuck in the year 1998. The submission is retried automatically several times but failed. Could you please help me to solve this issue. Thanks.

#3277 answered fcm issues on ARCHER um_support zcui
Description

Zhiqiang,

I've made a ticket so that others who also hit this issue can use this for reference.

You explain that you are trying to get access to MOSRS on ARCHER. The first thing to do should be to change ~/.subversion/servers to include:

[groups]
metofficesharedrepos = code*.metoffice.gov.uk

[metofficesharedrepos]
# Specify your Science Repository Service user name here
username = <your name>
store-plaintext-passwords = no

Then if you log into a terminal, and then do this:

  • setup-gpg
  • setup-mosrs

and type your password, you should be able to run commands like fcm ls https://code.metoffice.gov.uk/svn/um/main/trunk/ and also echo $SHLVL should return 3.

This method is always giving silent fails, so it may be that running it yourself, rather than from a script, is the best thing to do. It may be that I've missed things too, but in either case, please try to do this step by step and post any error messages in this ticket so that we can debug it.
