#241 fixed Help needed with 1 km UK model results willie bethan.white
Description

I've been trying to run the UM at 1km over the UK for 48 hours. The model will now compile and run without any errors. However, the output diagnostics are ok in the first hour but seem to break down after this. I can't see anything in the .leave file that indicates a problem. Is there any way to diagnose the issue?

The job is xdsvf and the latest .leave file is xdsvf000.xdsvf.d09047.t104014.leave

Thanks very much, Bethan.

#243 fixed not able to create ancillary files over Antarctic continent willie anmcr
Description

Hello,

I don't seem able to produce ancillary files using the NCAS ancillary file service for a rotated LAM grid covering continental Antarctica.

The lampos coordinates are

no. cols: 630 no. rows: 530 col space: 0.11 row space: 0.11 1st lat: -30.75 1st lon: 326.17 (146.17) pole lat: 176.29 (3.71) pole lon: 201.80 (21.80)

The quantities in brackets are to give the 'mirrored' pole values, which is required so that the pole is between 90S and 90N.

Thanks,

Andrew

PS Hopefully I can attached the corresponding lampos file and the qrparm.mask.ps file.

PSS I sent an email to Grenville Lister regarding this problem.

#245 fixed Setting up mesoscale model willie kihodges
Description

hi

we would like some assitance in getting setup to run the mesoscale model over the UK using ECMWF data as forcing. We have HECTOR accounts and access to the umui (which I have used in the past) on the puma machine.

I believe the version we want to run is 6.1 and as I mentioned we would like to use ECMWF operational analyses for the boundary forcing. The region we want to consider is over the UK but this may change latter to some European regions.

Regards

Kevin
