LW and SW net flux a the surface stash behaves oddly

Chris Holloway found the following for um vn 7.5 idealized runs:

After doing some short experimental runs, these are my conclusions:

When run on their own, the net downward surface LW (2201) and SW (1201) are incorrect, instead producing results that are the equivalent of computing only the total downward surface LW (2207) and SW (1235) without subtracting the total upward values.

However this can be corrected EITHER by including those fields (total downward surface LW, 2207, and SW, 1235) in the stash along with the net downward fields,

OR

by including T-increments from LW (2181) and from SW (1181)

Note that everything I've said for SW and LW applies separately, in other words the LW problem does not influence the SW problem and vice-versa.
The relevant runs are:

xhqgq (small stash with both SW and LW having this problem)
xhqgr (includes total LW down)
xhqgs (includes total SW down)
xhqgt (includes T-inc LW)
xhqgu (includes T-inc SW)
