Unable to use UMUI to submit to Monsoon today

Description

There's been a problem with Monsoon in the last couple days, and I think that they have changed the IP address of the lander to 212.219.243.19. It works fine for logging on to the machine, but it's currently impossible to use the UMUI to submit jobs to Monsoon.

I'm desperately thrying to restart a long job today before I go on leave tomorow. Is there some way to make the UMUI run a job with a difference IP address?

Or is there possibly a run script somewhere in the run folder that I can edit and llsubmit on Monsoon?

Hi Lee,

I was hoping that the lander.monsoon-metoffice.co.uk name would have propagated back out to the world by this morning, but alas it hasn't. :-( However, I have configured PUMA so that it knows where MONSooN is. UMUI jobs will now submit to MONSooN and you can go back to logging in to MONSooN via PUMA using username @ lander.monsoon-metoffice.co.uk.

You may need to log out and back into PUMA to pick up the change.

I think we're facing the same problem again today (2013-11-20)

Has Monsoons or Puma's IP address changed sometime since noon today?

Hi Lee,

There are currently problems logging in from lander to MONSooN HPC and these are being investigated as a matter or urgency. See the Collaboration Twiki: http://collab.metoffice.gov.uk/twiki/bin/viewfile/Static/News/met-office/um-collab/announce/maillist.html
