fcm gui failure

Description

Hi,

I'm trying to use the fcm gui on puma. I've been regularly encountering the error:

FCM GUI DIFF:
=============

# Start: 2013-10-16 10:02:24⇒ fcm diff -g
[FAIL] -g: unknown command, type 'fcm help' for help

"fcm diff -g" failed (2304)
# Time taken: 0 s⇒ fcm diff -g

FCM GUI STATUS:
===============

# Start: 2013-10-16 10:07:35⇒ fcm status
FCM 2-3-1 (/home/um/fcm/bin/fcm)
Usage:

fcm [APPLICATION] [OPTIONS] [ARGUMENTS]

Arguments:

fcm provides the following applications:

branch-create, bcreate, bc
branch-delete, bdelete, bdel, brm
branch-diff, bdiff, bdi
branch-info, binfo
branch-list, bls
browse, trac, www
build
cfg-print, cfg
cmp-ext-cfg
conflicts, cf
export-items
extract
gui
keyword-print, kp
loc-layout
make
mkpatch

fcm overrides the following svn applications:

add
commit, ci
delete, del, remove, rm
diff, di
merge
switch, sw
update, up

fcm explicitly doesn't support the following svn applications:

changelist

Type "fcm help APPLICATION" for help on individual application.

Type "svn help APPLICATION" for help on other svn application.

# Time taken: 0 s⇒ fcm status

This happens when you run most of the gui commands (diff and status shown), and makes the gui unusable. Is there any reason why this would happen? Obviously, I could run the command line version of these commands, but I'd prefer not to use the gui for now.

Thanks,

Lee

Hi Lee,

Not sure what to say here. I've just tried the FCM GUI several times on different working copies and it all works fine, including fcm status and fcm diff. I've had no reports of problems from anybody else, although I don't think many people use the GUI at all.

From your email it sounds like it does work on occasion, so this might indicate something to do with your environment maybe. If there is any further information you can give me about when the problem does and doesn't occur that would be great. Otherwise all I can think of doing right now is to ask the Met Office if they've ever seen this behaviour before.

Regards,
Ros.
