HadGEM3 on HECToR users?

Description

I have been working with a HadGEM3 job on HECTOR (xjcja) and still not managed to get it going satisfactorily for any length of time.

I am aware that this job is very much out of date by current standards: it uses v7.6 of the UM and the ocean is NEMO v3.0 (the current standard release is v3.4, and I am currently running v3.5 in ocean-only mode). Tim Graham at the Met Office, whose job I based mine on, says that none of his colleagues are using the model on HECTOR.

Now I am trying to do some timing tests for HadGEM3 on HECTOR with a view of submitting a NERC Standard Grant proposal next month to run substantial ensembles of the model on ARCHER. It would be really useful to find someone who is running a more up to date version of HadGEM3 on the system. Is there any way of finding out whether anyone in the UK community is doing this?

Many thanks,

Best regards,

Alex

I am only aware of Bablu running a coupled model on HECToR. For the purposes of estimating HPC resources, you could use numbers from the MO collaboration wiki. ARCHER should run at about the same speed as does MONSooN - ie about 3x faster than HECToR.
