Changing nodes for ARCHER

Description

Hi,

I'm currently copying one of my old jobs (from Hector), to run on Archer. I read in your documentation that the number of cores per node is different, being 24 on Archer and 32 on Hector, and that we should ensure our jobs use a multiple of 24. How do I do this? My job is currently set up to use the default number of cores (32), with a job time limit of 21600 seconds and a target run length of 7 months. I'm not using a non-default number of cores per node. So do I need to change anything?

In addition, apart from changing the machine name and username of course, is there anything else I need to alter in my job? I'm running version 6.6.3.

Many thanks,

Charlie

In the UMUI go to Target Machine and set EW x NS processors to be a multiple of 24. You can probably reduce the number of processors used on ARCHER compared to HECToR so that on both machines you use the same number of nodes (or even fewer nodes on ARCHER than on HECToR - worth experimenting a little - and still get decent turnaround)
