CRUN clarification

I am hoping you could clarify what I think is really quite a simple point.

I am currently using the GC2 configuration where I am pointing to an executable for the model and reconfiguration. I do a NRUN with the reconfiguration of the initial conditions switched on, then do SAVE, PROCESS, SUBMIT.

When I then do the CRUN I go back to compile and run options for the atmosphere and reconfiguration, then I switch off the the reconfiguration and switch to a CRUN. (I have noticed that I now no longer need to manually change the SUMBIT file from N to CRUN.) I then do SAVE, PROCESS, SUBMIT again, and it appears that the rest of the job completes successfully.

My concern is that in previous versions when doing the CRUN I have not clicked on PROCESS, just manually changed the SUBMIT file. I am wondering if clicking on PROCESS is doing anything else that I wouldn't want for the CRUN to complete successfully? From the output it looks OK at a glance but there may be something that I haven't noticed so I was hoping you could confirm that switching off the reconfiguration changing to CRUN and then hitting SAVE, PROCESS, SUBMIT was OK for doing the CRUN at this version?

Many thanks,

I think you are OK - it depends what model you are running, what hand-edits you have as to whether PROCESS'ng is needed. Later version of the model allow you to select NRUN/CRUN through the umui in which case PROCESS'ng is the correct thing to do.
