Description
Hello,
I would like to make some coding changes to the latest version of the UM and have been informed by staff at the met office that this is version 9.1. However, when I try to create a ticket (for enhancements) the latest version in the drop down box is 8.5, and here (on the help page) it is 8.6. However it does look like 9.1 is available on parts of the TRAC system (such as in the trunk code). I was therefore wondering if it is possible to do some enhancements with the 9.1 version of the model as things currently stand. Also do you know who I would contact about running the 9.1 version on MONSooN.
Thanks
Julia

Hi Julia,
Just to update you on this, UM 9.1 with Rose is on MONSooN but we won't be supporting it for general use. I understand you have been in touch with Ros Hatcher offline about this and she is the best person to talk to.
If you're not familiar with Rose it's worth going through the training course online or through the Met Office: http://metomi.github.io/rose/doc/rose.html
Regards,
Annette

Hi Julia,
UM version 9.1 is the first proper release with the new Rose system and is not yet ready for general use on MONSooN. Rose is a major change to the UM infrastructure and has required substantial effort from the Met Office and CMS to port it to puma and MONSooN, as this is quite a different set up to the internal Met Office computer systems.
As you noticed, the code is available on the trac system if you wish to browse, and you should be able to make branches but you won't be able to test them out just yet.
