Flow over Hill on Archer

Reported by: mvguarino Owned by: um_support
Component: UM Model Keywords: idealised,
Cc: Platform: ARCHER
UM Version: 7.8

I am trying to submit a job (idealized case) on Archer but I am facing some difficulties in doing so.

I have to simulate an idealized flow over hill and, before to do any kind of modification, I am just trying to run the existing job "Flow over Hill (Schar Problem)". This job has been created with the UM version 7.5, unfortunately UM 7.5 is not installed on Archer, so I upgraded the job version to 7.8.
The only other modification I did is about the Host name (not Hector but Archer).

When I click "Process" I get this error:
"ERROR: Execution error in processing file nds_Qsub_only, line 93: syntax error in expression "/3600" "

I decided to try however to submit the job and see what happens.. then, I get this error:
"ERROR: could not set permissions for file "/home/mvguarino/umui_jobs/xklqb/NDS_MAIN_SCR": no such file or directory"

and the procedure remains stuck into the "tidying local directories…" step.

Can you help me to figure out how can I fix these errors?

Hi Maria

There are many problems with xklqb - much of the FCM setup is not appropriate for a vn 7.8 job, referring, as it does, to UM 7.5 code (also, the target machine root directory will not be writeable by you).

Please look at a vn 7.8 job to get the FCM settings (try xgwaa)

You can simply remove fcm:um-br/dev/willie/VN7.5_UM_generate_core/src and fcm:um-br/dev/willie/VN7.5_memory_watermark/src.

Ensure that you include fcm:um_br/pkg/Config/VN7.8_ncas/src - that's probably all you will need.
