Description
Dear Grenville and team,
I have generated some new preliminary N96e, N216e, and N512e qrparm files using glacial-period topographic (ht) data, and put them on archer:
/work/n02/n02/lsim/my_ancils/N512e/LGM/qrparm.orog.PMIP3_v0 /work/n02/n02/lsim/my_ancils/N512e/LGM/qrparm.mask.PMIP3_v0 /work/n02/n02/lsim/my_ancils/N216e/LGM/qrparm.orog.PMIP3_v0 /work/n02/n02/lsim/my_ancils/N216e/LGM/qrparm.mask.PMIP3_v0 /work/n02/n02/lsim/my_ancils/N96e/LGM/qrparm.orog.PMIP3_v0 /work/n02/n02/lsim/my_ancils/N96e/LGM/qrparm.mask.PMIP3_v0
All fields in the orog files are set to 0, except ht. The mask files should have correct lsm values. Would it be possible to run these files through the CAP to generate some sensible values for the other missing orog fields, short names: 'field150','unspecified','unspecified_1','field152','field153','field154','field174', and 'field175'?
Many thanks,
Louise

Please take a look at
/n02/n02/grenvill/LSIME/qrparm.orog.n96e
which is based on the N96 orography and mask you proivided.
If this is OK - I'll create the orography files at N216, N512.

Hi Grenville,
Many thanks for looking at this. After an initial look, the fields you have added look mostly convincing. And a lot better than my preliminary efforts! However the orography ht field has been somehow filtered and has some slightly odd edge effects.
I could have a look myself at putting in ocean masking where it might be needed. But can you confirm whether you would recommend that keeping the filtered ht orography field in /work/n02/n02/grenvill/LSIME/qrparm.orog.n96e or reverting it back to the original in /work/n02/n02/lsim/my_ancils/N96e/LGM/qrparm.orog.PMIP3_v0 ?
Once this is down I will try running with these files to see what happens. Perhaps we can wait to see what happens with this before then aiming to replicate with the higher resolution files. Incidentally, one of the reasons I made the higher res. files was incase this was somehow useful for generating sub-grid fields for the lower resolution N96e file. However I would definitely also very much like to have the N216e and N512e files too, if possible, once the first files have been successfully used.
Thanks again,
Louise

- Resolution set to answered

Hi Louise
I have a version of this working but not apparently for endgame grids (the CAP I'm using has shifted the grid points back to a ND grid (I think)) - can I just check before carrying on that you really want to use endgame?
