Routine generating error: UKCA_FLUPJ

Description (last modified by ros)

In a HadGEM2 run, I did a sensitivity experiment by changing SST and Sea Ice. The model crushed within the first month, with following error. The model includes the UKCA tropospheric chemistry, and the error indicated that it was a issue of UKCA.

Is this a known issue that UKCA is sensitive to SST/Sea Ice changes?

 UM ERROR (Model aborting) :

After further test, by far, I can say that it is Sea Ice causing the problem.

Both SST and Sea Ice ancillaries are generated using *xancil* with option of AMIP II format. This matches job configuration in UMUI which is using AMIP II method to update SST and Sea Ice.

I wonder that is this due to wrong format of ancillaries or due to the abnormal value in the ancillaries?

The job id is xlpgg.

Many thanks,

Hi Liang

Charlie Williams has done lots of runs with SST and Sea ice ancillaries which he generated. Can you check with Charlie?
