stat-view error

Reported by: simon.tett Owned by: um_support
Component: UM Model Keywords:
Cc: Platform:
UM Version: <select version>

my model has crashed :-( due I think to some stashy problem. I'm trying to add new 3D diagnostics. Traceback in the leave file is not very helpful. See the leave file at:

But I've tried to run the debugger, to get more traceback, via stat-view and get an error:
stett2@eslogin005:/work/n02/n02/stett2/xldsi> stat-view
'import site' failed; use -v for traceback
Traceback (most recent call last):

File "/opt/cray/stat/", line 25, in <module>

import os.path

ImportError?: No module named os.path

I'm about to recompile etc with some print statements…

I have forwarded your stat-view problem to ARCHER.

This is quite bizarre - I have just seen the almost identical error cropping up on the new MONSooN Cray
The problem seems to be in stash_gather_field with call to gcg_ralltoalle. We're working on this.

I copied your job xldsi as xlniz, set the GCOM collectves limit to 300 (arbitrarily larger than the number of processors you are running with) in model selection→ Independent section options → Misc…

The model ran OK (see /home/n02/n02/grenvill/um/umui_out/xlniz000.xlniz.d15247.t150058.leave).

Hi Grenville,

apologies. I think I mus-communicated. I found and fixed the bug then resubmitted the run. It was due to a misalignment in a call to a routine. I was reporting the problem with stat-view. Which I've had a few times but not annoyed enough to report it!

ARCHER have responded:

Query Q582439 (stat-view)

Apologies for the slow response on this. If you issue:

module unload anaconda

before running stat-view it should work. We are going to make a
change to the Python environment such that anaconda is not loaded
by default so that Cray tools such as this just work on the system.

All users will be notified once we have scheduled the change.
