Description

Hi,

Is the "lampos" program available on either the Reading machines or HPCX? What is the path?

Hi todd

On the Reading machines lampos is in directory ~jeff/bin. I've also now installed it on hpcx in directory ~umx/bin (should be in your path). There is a problem with the hpcx version, it works fine but when you exit it freezes up your terminal window, so you have to kill the window and log in again. This is a problem with the hpcx wish executable, I will email hpcx to see if they can fix it.

I've also put the lampos source code on hpcx (~umx/software/lamposvn3.1.1.tar.gz) so you can install it on your local machine. Read the read.me file, edit and run the install file to install, you need a fortran compiler and a wish executable to install/run lampos.

Hi Jeff,

I should have clarified; I am using UMvn6.1. Is lampos 3.11 (~jeff/bin) appropriate, or do I need lampos 3.2?

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from new to closed

lampos 3.2 installed under ‘eddy’ whihc is SunOS 5.10 Generic sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Blade-2500 while other machines at Reading normally is SunOS 5.9 or under.

Therefore, to run lampos 3.2 from Reading, users need to login to ‘eddy.reading.ac.uk’ and then type ~jview/bin/lampos_nd
