Description (last modified by ros)
Deaar HelpDesk,
I have been trying to set up DrHook on archer to do some time measurements.
I followed the changes suggested in the ticket #1785 (Bindings location, container file name etc). But I still cannot find any reference to DrHook in the output /DATADIR/xmufi …
What is DrHook exactly and how does it work? Is it a text-file which tells about the timings or some chart? I have no clue about this? Can you please help? More precisely
- How do I set it up?
- What do I need to do to run ?
- Where do I look up for the results? and how?
Thanks
Emre

In answer to your other question:
When it runs successfully you will end up with drhook.prof.* files in your job's $DATAW directory containing profiling information, one for each processor.

Ros.

Thank you Grenville and Ros for the answers.
After you pointed that the changes were not made properly, I looked at the UMUI again and made all the changes. Could you tell me if there is anything missing
1a. Selected Input/Output? control & resources → Output choices
1b. Clicked “Use DrHook? ” & then went on to the DRHOOK follow-on panel.
1c. Selected CPU time
2 FCM Configuration → FCM Extract Directories and Output Levels
2a Bindings location set as: fcm:um_br/dev/ros/vn8.4_drhook_archer/src/configs/bindings
2b Container file name and location: $UM_SVN_BIND/container.cfg@20602
I don't have the scavenger_init file. So I did not do any changes with that.
After all these changes there is still no drhook.prof file in the /work directory. The order of zhook in/out seems fine in the files.
Best wishes
Emre

Hi Emre,
Please make you have done a Full build having changed the Bindings location. You can switch this on in window FCM Configuration → FCM Extract directories and Output levels
Cheers,
Ros.
