Description
Hi
I would like to compare two dumps (same date but different model simulations).
I typed
/projects/um1/IBM/vn8.4/ibm/utils/cumf xnafaa.da19990301_00 xnafba.da19990301_00
Which outputs
Problem with CUMF program Output > Summary in: /scratch/jakel/cumf_summ.jakel.10085 > Full output in: /scratch/jakel/cumf_full.jakel.10085 > Difference maps (if available) in: /scratch/jakel/cumf_diff.jakel.10085
The only file that is generated, /scratch/jakel/cumf_diff.jakel.10085, contains the following..
/projects/um1/IBM/vn8.4/ibm/utils/cumf[250]: /projects/um1/vn8.4/ibm/exec/qxcumf: not found [No such file or directory]
I on monsoon and using version 8.4 of the UM/UKCA. Is there a problem with this tool or am I using it incorrectly?
Regards,
Jamie

Hi Willie,
Thanks for that, the cumf was successful.
Do you know of any documentation on how to interpret the cumf results?
I have ran two simulations that differ only in how many tracers are being tracked (aerosol tracers) so the chemical process and dynamics should be the same.

Jamie

Hi Jamie,
I tend to use cumf to see if a file contains NaNs by comparing the file with itself. If two files are actually different as in this case, it is less useful. It may be better to use xconv to look at individual fields.

Hi Jamie,
Try using
I don't know why you're picking up the old IBM version.
