Nested Antarctic Peninsula runs failing on _FRAMES step

Description

Hello,

I have been trying to run Stuart Webster's nested suite over the Antarctic Peninsula at 4 km resolution for a case study earlier this year (I have also tried 1.5 km and 0.5 km but I have decided to make sure I can get the 4 km runs to work first). The model typically runs well for a few days and then fails. Previously, the fails were on the glm_recon or glm_fcst steps, but now it fails at the _FRAMES stage.

Can you offer any advice? I am aware that I am a novice with the UM so there may be issues with my configuration. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Ella

Ella

Sorry for the delay - is this still a problem? If so, please tell us the suite id.

Hi Grenville,

The suite is called u-ah710 and I've now gone back to having problems with the fcst step, particularly for the 0.5 km runs.

The suite is running now, but I've had to re-trigger this step a few times so far.

Best,

Ella

Hi Grenville,

Just to confirm - this is still a problem. u-ah710 is repeatedly failing on the _fcst_000 step, but only for the km0p5 nest.

Thanks

Ella

Hi Grenville,

After a bit more investigation I have found that the fails were because the wall time exceeded the wall clock limit. I have reduces the CRUN_LEN so hopefully this shouldn't happen again.
