problems with setting STASHmaster location to repository in rose-app.conf at vn10.6.1

Reported by: luke Owned by: ros
Component: Rose Keywords: STASHmaster
Cc: Platform: ARCHER
UM Version: 10.6

Description

Hello,

I am attempting to port a vn10.6.1 GA7.1+StratTrop suite from the MONSooN xcm (u-ak352) to ARCHER (u-ak468). To specify the STASHmaster_A file the following line is inserted into the app/um/rose-app.conf file:

STASHMSTR=STASHmaster

which is then later in the file followed by

[file:STASHmaster]
source=fcm:um.xm_tr/rose-meta/um-atmos/HEAD/etc/stash/STASHmaster@31236

this works fine on the xcm, but on ARCHER the recon job.err file gives the following:

[FAIL] file:STASHmaster=source=fcm:um.xm_tr/rose-meta/um-atmos/HEAD/etc/stash/STASHmaster@31236: bad or missing value
Received signal ERR

I know that this technique worked at vn10.4 for the UKCA practicals:

http://www.ukca.ac.uk/wiki/index.php/UKCA_Chemistry_and_Aerosol_vn10.4_Tutorial_4#Use_your_new_STASHmaster_file_in_Rose

so I'm confused as to what is going wrong here.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Luke

Hi Luke,

[file:STASHmaster]
source=fcm:um.xm_tr/rose-meta/um-atmos/HEAD/etc/stash/STASHmaster@31236

Needs to be in the rose-suite.conf file….

Cheers,
Ros.

Hi Ros,

D'Oh!

That's got it. The recon step has passed. It's annoying that it works one way with Monsoon, but then not with ARCHER…

Many thanks, I'll close this ticket now.

Best wishes,
Luke

Hi Luke,

Yes it is annoying; differences in HPC setup - Monsoon can see the mirror repositories but ARCHER can't.

Cheers,
Ros.
