UM Version: 10.2

I am currently trying to make changes to a rose suite (u-ak139) which I'd like to commit on xcs-c. However I am getting the following error:

sfenec@xcslc0:~/roses/u-ak139> fcm commit
[FAIL] svn info --xml /home/d03/sfenec/roses/u-ak139 # rc=1
[FAIL] svn: The path '/home/d03/sfenec/roses/u-ak139' appears to be part of a Subversion 1.7 or greater
[FAIL] working copy. Please upgrade your Subversion client to use this
[FAIL] working copy.

Do you have any suggestions why this might be please?

Hi Sara,

You need to login to exvmsrose to run the FCM and Rose commands.

Hi Ros,

Thanks for your help. fcm commit has now worked.

In the mean time I have come across another problem. I would like to make changes to my suite (u-ak139) to run on xcs-c however I'm not entirely sure what these are. On rose gui →suite conf → Hosts I have "xcm" option selected.

How would I change this to point to xcs-c? and is this the only change I need to make?

Many thanks for your help

  • Platform set to Monsoon2
  • UM Version changed from <select version> to 10.2

Hi Sara,

You need to add "xcsc" to the list of valid options for HPC_HOST in u-ak139/meta/rose-meta.conf it will then appear as an option in rose edit GUI. If you have the suite already open you'll need to reload the metadata by clicking metadata → refresh metadata'.

The XCS also has 36 cores per node rather than 32, so you will need to edit the suite.rc file to change every occurrence of 32 to 36.

From my quick look I think that is all you need to do. If you encounter other problems let us know.
