Archer permissions and ROSE

Reported by: apm Owned by: um_support
Component: NEMO/CICE Keywords: Rose Puma Archer
Cc: Platform: ARCHER
UM Version: <select version>

Description

I am just starting to use ROSE on Puma to run the GO6.0 NEMO/CICE configuration on Archer, but I have run into a brick wall.

First of all, as instructed on the online guide, I have set up the following in my .profile on Archer:

export UMDIR=/work/y07/y07/umshared
export DATADIR=/work/n01/n01/alexm
export PATH=$PATH:$UMDIR/software/bin

… but I don't have read permission for /work/y07/y07/umshared/ . Is this going to be a problem?

Second, when I type "rosie go" on Puma, I get this message:

Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module": libcanberra-gtk-module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "gnomebreakpad": libgnomebreakpad.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Is this critical?

I have created a new suite on ROSE called u-ak984, which is a copy of Annette Osprey's standard job u-ag051. If I click on the Run Suite button, I get these error messages:

RosePopenError?: ssh -oBatchMode=yes alexm@… bash —login -c \'ROSE_VERSION=2016.11.1\ rose\ suite-run\ -v\ -v\ —name=u-ak984\ —run=run\ —remote=uuid=a426e1f8-3e90-4418-be16-1ffe8134a5d1,root-dir=$DATADIR\'# return-cpde=127,stderr=

ModuleCmd_Switch.c(172):ERROR:152: Module 'PrgEnv?-cray' is currently not loaded

bash: rose: command not found

What does these messages mean?

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

You need to ask ARCHER to give you access to the 'umshared' package.. You can do this on the ARCHER SAFE page - click on your account name there.

The Gtk messages are not critical and can be ignored.

I tried Annette's job and it worked for me, so I think the module problem is a consequence of the first.

Willie
