Description

I have a Rose job u-ak984. When I run the extract and compile through the Rose interface on PUMA, I get an error as follows:

When I look at my files on PUMA, I see I am only using about 870MB in total, but I still get the "disk quota exceeded" error. Is there any way to increase my quota?

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Puma quota increased to 3GB.

I am running the NEMO/CICE model on Archer. The code for each suite takes over 1.3GB (not that I have the slightest idea why a code extract needs this much space!). Even with my recently enlarged current 3GB quota on the PUMA home directory, this means that I can't have more than two suites compiled at any one time with . This has started to be a serious restriction. Would it be possible for my quota to be doubled to 6GB?

Thank you,

Alex

Hi Alex,

You can reduce the space required for your suites by using a scratch space.

  1. In your suite(s), edit the suite.rc to add an extra line to the fcm_make_ocean definition, as follows:
       [[fcm_make_ocean]]
            inherit = None, LINUX_UM
    	script = "rose task-run --verbose --define=fast-dest-root-orig=$SCRATCH --define='args=--archive --ignore-lock'"

  1. You need to have the variable SCRATCH defined in your environment. If you do not already have this set, add the following to your .profile:
    export SCRATCH=/export/puma/data-01/training/apm
