MOOSE error code = 127 when retrieving start file

UM Version: 10.6

I'm trying to setup some runs on Archer with the Nesting Suite for the first time. I am getting the following error in install_glm_startdata (in job.out):

Error retrieving file(s) moose:/opfc/atm/global/rerun/201404.file/2014040100_glm_t+0, MOOSE error code = 127

I am assuming this means it cannot get hold of the start dump. Am I supposed to have downloaded this beforehand, or done some setup with moose which I have missed?

Potentially unrelated, but I also get the following message in job.err.

/home/n02/n02/earlga/.profile: line 13: /work/y07/y07/umshared/vn10.6/cce/scripts/.umsetvars_10.6: No such file or directory

That line in my .profile file was part of the suggested setup on the puma website.

Hi Luis,

I've obtained a copy of the start dump from Monsoon and copied it to ARCHER. It will appear in my directory /work/n02/n02/wmcginty. Please copy it to your own workspace. It is not possible currently to transfer data from the MASS archive at the Met Office directly to ARCHER.

I don't think you need the umsetvars line in your .profile.

Hi Willie,

thanks a lot for getting the file, I have copied it to my space now. It did say in the rose suite help section that the user must provide the analyses on disk if running from archer, but I missed that.

I will be doing limited area runs driven by analyses at the edges, so I will need at least daily analyses for the duration of the run. I have a monsoon account, so I can just download them myself on monsoon, then scp them to archer. Having tried it, I am getting a permission denied error. Do you know who I should contact to get access?

Thanks again,

Hi Luis,

You should drop a line to the Monsoon2 help desk http://collab.metoffice.gov.uk/twiki/bin/view/Support/ServiceSupport. Note that you won't be able to access MASS from NEXCS.

In the meantime, I am happy to provide the start dumps from MASS. Just let me know the dates and times you need.

Hi Willie,

cheers, I'll get in touch with monsoon. In the meantime, would it be possible to also have the start dumps for 2014040200 and 2014040300? I'm only trying to run a couple of days at the moment, to check everything is running ok, and hopefully by the time I'm ready to submit a longer run I will have access to the data on MASS.

Also, might be a silly question, but what's NEXCS?

Hi Luis,

Your data is now ready on ARCHER in /work/n02/n02/wmcginty/data_xfer. Please copy it to your own workspace as soon as possible.

NEXCS is the NERC part of Monsoon2 - see http://collab.metoffice.gov.uk/twiki/bin/view/Support/NEXCS.
