Description
Hi, I would like to adapt the nesting suite to run with the new GA7.1 to make use of the improved cloud microphysics. I understand that I can do this by modifying some of the .rc files, but I haven't been able to find anywhere obvious to do this.
Could you please let me know where I can change the atmospheric configuration?
Thanks,
Ella

Hi Willie,
I mean the science configuration (does the processor configuration need to be changed to match? I wasn't aware of this) - I'm currently running GA7.0 as part of the suite defaults, and would like to make use of the improved microphysics that are part of the newer release.
Thanks,
Ella

Hi Ella,
If we take your suite u-an592 as an example, the UM science settings are found in rose config-edit under um > namelist UM Science Settings. With the Nesting Suite you can set up additional science configurations by adding pages under the appropriate resolution. This is discussed under "Task 3" on the Nesting Suite tutorial page https://code.metoffice.gov.uk/trac/rmed/wiki/suites/nesting/worked_eg_2017.
I hope that helps.
Regards
Willie

Hi Willie,
Thanks very much for the advice - I will work through that tutorial (I'd never come across that page before; it's very helpful, thanks!).
Best,
Ella

Hi Ella,
Do you mean the processor configuration (PEs north and east) or do you mean the science configuration? Let us know the suite id.
Regards
Willie
