Submitted suite to ROSE "retrying" for a long time

Description

Hi, this is just to enquire whether it is normal for a suite (u-ar502) as notified in the GUI CYLC to maintain a status of "retrying" for several hours.

Hi Sunil,

Suites are generally set up so that they retry several times on failure, usually over a period of a day. This is useful, if for example, the remote host is down for maintenance for a period, the suite will then continue. However, it can also mean a genuine problem as in your case. You will need to look in the job.out/job.err/job-activity.log file of the failing task to see what is going on.
