Description
Afternoon,
Thanks entirely to the help of Willie, I have a rose suite that builds a start dump from ECMWF grib files (u-as149).
However, as identified by Willie at the end (comment 18) of the ECMWF Grib ticket (http://cms.ncas.ac.uk/ticket/2295#comment:18) the nested domain reconfiguration stage takes quite a while due to it being a fairly long time.
The initial plan was to increase the processors, however despite doubling up (from 16,32 to 32,48) I am still unable to complete the reconfiguration for my nested domain (there is no such isue for the GLM phase, it completes in a matter of minutes). Therefore I would like to increase the reconfiguration time instead.
In the UMUI, I would manually set the reconfiguration time to a longer period, ie for Vn 8.4: Model Selection → Reconfiguration → General Reconfiguration Options. However, I can't find an equivalent within Rose. If some direction on this could be provided I would be very grateful.
Thanks
James

Ah, great.
That has worked, thanks Willie.

I also recieved this from the Met Office,
Should you need to extend the reconfiguration time for your model run then edit the UM or LAM sections within the suite-adds.rc
This file can be found in the command line window at
roses → your suite ID → site → monsoon-cray-xc40
This assumes that Monsoon is your running site! If it is not, ls the site directory to find the alternatives.
Hi James,
It is failing in IcelandGreenland_8p0_protoRA1M_um_recon which uses the um app, not the glm_um app. So you need UM files here, not GRIB. This can be solved by ticking the UM button in um→namelist→Reconfig and Ancil control→ general technical options. I think you should return to the original processor config and time.
Regards
Willie
