File transfer from MONSooN

Reported by: dsergeev Owned by: um_support
Component: Monsoon Keywords: data, transfer, rsync, tar, ssh, proxy

UM Version:

I'm having some problems downloading files from MONSooN.
I tried using direct transfer commands given in the guide ( Transfer), but rsync/scp method doesn't work for me because I'm being asked for a password.

The tar-based method works for uploading files, but when I try to transfer files from MONSooN to my local machine, it does not work:

tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors

I use this type of one-liner:

ssh "ssh xcs-c \" cd /path/to/source/directory && tar cf - myfiles*.txt \" " | tar xvf -

Note that neither it works without a wildcard.

What could be the problem here?

And of course right after I created the ticket, I found the source of the problem: I had echo commands in my .bashrc file.
