'No hosts selected' error when restarting suite

Description

I am trying to restart a suite (u-ax845) that timed out over the weekend so that I can continue the run. However, when I use rose suite-run —restart, I get a 'no hosts selected' error.

[FAIL] bash -ec H=$(rose\ host-select\ postproc);\ echo\ $H # return-code=1, stderr=
[FAIL] [WARN] postproc: (timed out)
[FAIL] [FAIL] No hosts selected.

Unfortunately this is very urgent so hopefully it will be an easy fix!

Hi Ella,

I will pass this onto the Met Office.

In the meantime you could try replacing host = $(rose host-select postproc) with host = postproc. I can't see a postproc entry in the Rose config file so not sure how this would have worked in the first place. What task is it that runs on postproc?

Thanks for your quick reply! I'm not actually sure which task it is that runs on postproc, but as it has worked fine up until now, I thought it might be a temporary issue?

Where shall I change this line? rose-suite.adds?

Hi Ella,

Sorry I just looked in the suite.rc.processed. Yes in rose-suite.adds change

    [[HOST_IDL]]
        [[[remote]]]
            host = $(rose host-select {{IDL_SERVER}})

to

    [[HOST_IDL]]
        [[[remote]]]
            host = {{IDL_SERVER}}

Can't guarantee this will work - if it's a connection thing rather than rose host-select issue it won't make any difference. I can ssh to postproc albeit it rather slowly. Fingers crossed.

Thanks Ros, I will try this. I've also noticed that postproc is extremely slow today. Perhaps it is just a matter of waiting until things speed up.
