start dump reconfiguration

Reported by: beh27 Owned by: um_support

I've been trying to set up a global run (xdwua) to output LBCs for my LAM using the start dumps that I requested a few weeks ago. I have been having problems getting this to run, even though I had a running job for the same set up just with a different start dump. The model crashes after giving out the error message:

Error Message:
INITDUMP: Wrong no of atmos prognostic fields

Basically it the same problem as job 127. ie the problem is associated with the addition of a 75th prognostic field in the start dump compared to the expected 74. ("stash code = 321"). the fix there was to run the modifications that you suggested to reconfigure the start dump. I've tried doing this, but one of the mods does not exist and hence the reconfiguration crashes:

'/work/n02/n02/hum/vn6.1/mods/recon_fix_6.1.mf90' : No such file or directory

i'm currently trying to use the start dump in …/raw_dumps/ called 20081006_qwqg06.T+0. Can you suggest a course of action to get my global model to run using the start dumps you have provided me with?

correction: i meant that there is a different 75th prognostic variable. the new start dumps have "stash code = 321" whereas the one i was previously using ($UMDIR/dumps/weather/global/2007030500.T+0) have "NET DN SW RAD FLUX:OPEN SEA:SEA MEAN"

Hi Benjamin

'/work/n02/n02/hum/vn6.1/mods/recon_fix_6.1.mf90' : No such file or directory

This mod was only needed on hpcx, you don't need it on hector. The parts which are needed on hector are in pum_full_6.1.mf90, which you have included. Just delete this mod and try again.

Hi Benjamin,

I addition to Jeff's advice, please follow the suggestions in on how to reconfigure recent start dumps from the Met Office
