Can I get some help with root fractions for JULES?

Hi Azin
The root fractions are governed by an exponential probability distribution for the different plant functional types, with an e-folding depth in meters (for each PFT) given by:
rootd_ft_io=3.00,1.00,0.50,0.50,0.50,

These are for the pft_params.nml namelist in JULES 4.4 that Pier Luigi has been using.

You should be able to determine a root fraction for each soil layer for each PFT by using the values given above in equation 32 of Martin Best et al.'s 2009 document based upon their 2001 document:

You can also see Table 6 in that paper for the values of rootd_ft that they used.
