Description

I'm trying to follow the instructions to set up a password keyring from the following page:

https://code.metoffice.gov.uk/trac/home/wiki/AuthenticationCaching/GnomeKeyring#Linuxserver

but when I run seahorse it doesn't look the same and I'm not sure how to set up a password keyring in the new format.

Thanks
Matthew

Hi Matthew,

We don't use gnome-keyring on PUMA.

There are some PUMA specific instructions here: https://code.metoffice.gov.uk/trac/home/wiki/AuthenticationCaching#PUMA

Better still we have a whole section on setting up for running rose suites on ARCHER from PUMA in our UM Training practicals. See here: http://cms.ncas.ac.uk/documents/training/April2018/practicals/html/getting-setup.html#set-up-your-puma-environment-and-access-to-mosrs

Regards,
Ros.

Hi Ros,

Thank you, I have started following the training practical instructions but when I input 'cp ~um/um-training/setup/.profile .' it says it cannot overwrite directory './.profile' with a non-directory. I assume this means I already have a .profile file but I can't seem to access it?

Thanks
Matthew

Hi Matthew,

Somehow you had already created a ~/.profile directory so you can't copy a file to that name. Please rmdir ~/.profile and then try running the cp command again.

Ros.
