Creating daily ancil climatology SST/SEAICE

Hi,

I am trying to create a daily climatology file for SST and Sea Ice (with gregorian calendar) but I have a problem when the model tries to read it:

Also, I noticed that when using the option "Make generalised ancillary file calendar independent - yes", the output has a problem, I cannot read it with xconv and have the following error:

cal = -32768 invalid in get_tmean1

Is daily climatology only possible with 360 calendar?

Hi Nico

The xconv error is a problem with xconv not with the file. Having said that the UM doesn't support a daily climatology with a period of one year for the Gregorian calendar. You will either have to switch to a 360 day calendar or make a non-periodic Gregorian calendar file (I think that will work).
