Pumatest accessing suite blocked by puma

Description

Hello,

I've just started using pumatest instead of puma, as required by a complicated suite I'm using; u-bl646.

Grenville made me aware that I can only use puma or pumatest, so I'm now planning to use pumatest exclusively, but changes I've made to the suite u-bl646 on pumatest cannot be committed, presumably because I made further changes to this suite yesterday.

Could I please have suite u-bl646 copied from puma to pumatest?

As I say, I plan to use pumatest exclusively, so this problem shouldn't be replicated.

Thanks,

Leighton.

Hello,

I'd also like to know if there is a pumatest equivalent of rosebush?

When I attempt to view the status of a completed suite u-bm992 run from pumatest today, I can only see files from last week.

http://puma.nerc.ac.uk/rose-bush/view/Leighton_Regayre/u-bm992?&no_fuzzy_time=0&path=log/job/20150101T0000Z/atmos_main/01/job.err

Thanks,

Leighton

Hi Leighton,

You can copy files over from puma to pumatest yourself in the usual way using rsync or scp.

Rose Bush is available at: https://pumatest.nerc.ac.uk/rose-bush/

Regards,
Ros.

Hi again,

I copied over both my /roses and /cylc-run folders for this suite from puma to pumatest.

When I attempt to commit a minor change as a test I get the following error:

Transmitting file data .svn: E165001: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: E165001: Commit blocked by pre-commit hook (exit code 1) with output:
2019-10-15T12:37:14Z+ 134617-2xfo by LeightonRegayre?
U b/l/6/4/6/trunk/app/um/rose-app.conf
[FAIL] PERMISSION DENIED: U b/l/6/4/6/trunk/app/um/rose-app.conf
[FAIL] svn commit -F /tmp/Jz1O22CpNI # rc=1

There's clearly some sort of conflict between puma and pumatest.

Thanks,

Leighton.

Hi Leighton,

Think this is because you have the wrong username set in your ~/.metomi/rose.conf file it should be leightonregayre not LeightonRegayre - the username is case sensitive.

Cheers,
Ros.

P.S. The same goes for your ~/.subversion/servers file

Hi Ros,

Thanks. I don't remember setting those fields.

I've altered them as you suggest, but the same error persists.

Cheers,

Leighton.

It was part of the MOSRS setup script.

You'll need to re-cache you MOSRS credentials - run mosrs-cache-password

Cheers,
Ros.

Thanks Ros,

I've done as you suggest and am now welcomed as leightonregayre, but the error when attempting to commit is the same.

Cheers,

Leighton.

Hi Leighton,

If the error is still referencing LeightonRegayre, please kill the currently running gpg-agent completely (ps -flu Leighton_Regayre) and kill all running gpg-agent processes. Then log out of all pumatest terminal windows and login again. You should be prompted for your MOSRS password and hopefully that will solve it.

Cheers,
Ros.

Hi Ros,

That hasn't worked either I'm afraid. The error is still:

Transmitting file data .svn: E165001: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: E165001: Commit blocked by pre-commit hook (exit code 1) with output:
2019-10-18T08:21:05Z+ 135096-2xt7 by LeightonRegayre?

[FAIL] PERMISSION DENIED: U b/l/6/4/6/trunk/rose-suite.conf
[FAIL] svn commit -F /tmp/LxiuRYXQtl # rc=1

A few side questions about pumatest:

1/ grep -rf doesn't work as expected. It won't search within folders.
2/ when copying a suite a vi window opens. Could you let me know how to set that to emacs please? I expected the following lines in my .profile to do that:
VISUAL=emacs; export VISUAL
EDITOR=emacs; export EDITOR

Thanks,

Leighton.

Hi Leighton,

The svn auth file still has the wrong username. Delete the file beginning 2be6 in ~/.subversion/auth/svn.simple. Kill the running gpg-agent process, log out and back in again and re-cache MOSRS password when prompted.

I've never used grep -f but recursive option -r works fine and searches within folders.

You need to set the SVN_EDITOR. You started off with a blank .profile & .bashrc so you will need to re-add any settings that you need out of your puma files.

# Editor for commits to svn repository
export SVN_EDITOR=emacs

Cheers,
Ros.

Hi Leighton,

What format is the attachment in - my mac seems to think it's a .dms file which we can't view.
Can you make a jpg or png?

Assuming this is u-bl646 from what I can see on rose-bush and on ARCHER it's running fine.

Cheers,
Ros.

Hi Ros,

Please disregard that image. I couldn't see a way to delete it once attached. It was a screen capture of an error that I've solved.

Thanks,

Leighton.
