install_cold error

Reported by: luciad Owned by: um_support
Component: UM Model Keywords: install cold error
Cc: Platform: ARCHER
UM Version: 11.1

Description

Hello,

I have submitted a suite (u-bq438) in which I have made several changes. But when I run it I get the following error:

ERROR: file not found: /home/luciad/cylc-run/u-bq438/log/job/20170201T0000Z/install_cold/01/job.err

Could you please advise on the matter?

Thank you,
Lucia

Hi Lucia,

It means the job.err file either hasn't been created yet (due to for example a submit failure or the task has not yet run) or hasn't been pulled back from the remote host (e.g. ARCHER).

Log onto ARCHER and manually check the log directory over there to determine what has happened: ie. go to directory /home/n02/n02/luciad/cylc-run/u-bq438/log/job/20170201T0000Z/install_cold/01 to see the log files.

Regards,
Ros.

Hi Ros,

Thank you for your answer.
Here is the message in the job.err

I do not understand why it is looking for u_bo845. That is the suite that I’ve copied, indeed. Did I missed to change something in the suite?

Hi Lucia,

The helpdesk is back up and running properly so you can revert to using the web form again.

You are pointing to that file in:
See suite conf → run initialisation and cycling → AINITIAL filename

You can use the search box in the rose GUI to find where things are set or alternatively unix grep to search from the command line.

Cheers,
Ros.

Hi Ros,

I tried modifying the ainitial filename and directory with several combinations. The result is the same:"No such file or directory". I don't understand what file I need to mention here.

Hi Lucia,

This is the start dump that is the input to the reconfiguration step.
