Description
Hi,
is there a hsitorical control configuration for HadGEM-GC7.1 at N96 atmospheric resolution (1 degree ocean I'd guess) suitable for running on Monsoon?
If so what is it called?

Hi Grenville,
I was not clear enough — I meant the PI control case — searching for piControl in rose gives lots of suites. Which one should I use?
If the suite has not been run on Monsoon — what do I need to do to port it…
I note there is a CMIP6 folder on the collaboration server but I do not have access to that. How do I get that?

I believe u-as375 is the pi control (I have asked more knowledgeable bods in the MO) It looks liuke you are not in the correct group for cmip6 on MOSRS - we'll initiate the fix.
Porting from internal MO to Monsoon is just a case of changing a few paths and maybe grabbing appropriate data.

Hi Grenville,
from the short description this looks like the historical simulation — starts 1850 and CO2 etc all change. I want the PIcontrol which will have fixed CO2 concentrations and all other forcings fixed. Ideally with a fairly long spinup…

u-ar766 is a GC3.1 pi control

Duhhh… Cut-n-paste the wrong thing…I blame the weather.
However, this is version 10.7. Our code changes are at version 11… Can I just apply them or will something break. I suspect the answer will be "it depends"…

p.s I note this was developed by Lettie Roach who did her MSci project with me before going off to New Zealand to do a PhD! Small world.

I am also looking for a 4XCO2 case — I assume that once I have access to the CMIP6 info I can see what that is. But my search suggests that u-bg555 is the case I want.

Upgrading is generally quite simple - upgrade macros exist to help. Or you might back-port your code to 10.7.
We're not best placed to advise on scientific configurations - perhaps best to check with the owner of u-bg555 (there's no way of being sure that suite has ever even run)

Hi Grenville,
thanks. I suspect first thing I need to do is configure for Monsoon — the u-ar766 suite looks a bit different from 11.0 atmos models I've been playing with.. <sigh>.
I assume I need to fix the red stettings/red triangles. I've got a bunch under Machine Options — any handy documentation? or can you tell me what Oasis3-mct path and XIOS path should be? They are currently set to:
'/scale_akl_persistent/filesets/opt_niwa/sles12-x86_64-skl_prelim/CrayIntel-2017.06/OASIS3-MCT/r1660-CrayIntel?-2017.06' and
'/scale_akl_persistent/filesets/opt_niwa/sles12-x86_64-skl_prelim/CrayIntel-2017.06/XIOS-NC4-OASIS3MCT/r952-CrayIntel?-2017.06'
which suggests that Lettie was the originator and ran them at NIWA….
Does not look like I get archiving to Jasmin for free in this run…

There are lots of copies of this which have been modified for NEXCS - I don't know what science differences there are, but see u-bf639 for example - the metadata is OK in this suite.

How about u-as375 I'm not 100% sure it is on Monsoon but it should port if not?
