Required field is not in input dump

Reported by: anmcr Owned by: um_support

Description

Hi Helpdesk,

My model ID is u-bs484. It is a nested suite using N320 → 12 km → 4km, running over a small region of Antarctica.

The model ran fine when I ran it for a date in 2011. However, when I run it for date in 2017 it fails with the error ' Error message: Section 0 Item 362 : Required field is not in input dump!' at the reconfiguration step for the 12 km model. I couldn't find any file in the ancillary directory with the field 0, 362. Could you please advise how to proceed?

Many thanks for your help,

Andrew

Hello,

I meant to add, that for the UM model setup for the 12 km model, that the um → namelist → UM science settings → Section 17 - Aerosol → Dust Aerosols → i_dust is switched to off.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Grenville,

Thanks for looking at this. The output from the 2011 run is at:

not sure Andrew, can you try setting

l_use_arcldust to false

I note that glm_um_recon1 failed with a grib problem?

Hi Grenville,

Thanks for looking at this. where can I find 'l_use_arcldust'?

Also, I thought that glm_um_recon1 completed successfully? See attachment?

Best wishes,

Andrew

Andrew

just enter l_use_arcldust in the rose edit gui search box

/home/d01/amworr/cylc-run/u-bs484/work/20170129T0000Z/glm_um_recon1/pe_output/umgla.fort6.pe00

Hi Grenville,

Setting the flag to false seems to have fixed it, as the reconfiguration of the 12 km model has completed. Also, the error with the glm reconfiguration was for a run running on the 29th January (I think that I tried using MO analysis to drive the global model), which produced an error. However, I reverted to using ERAI for this run on the 31st.

Can you please keep this ticket open for a while longer until the run actually completes?

Many thanks,

Andrew

Hi Grenville,

The 12 and 4 km runs completed successfully.

However, I then added a third nested suite at 1.5 km, which is failing at the reconfiguration stage with the error below, which again involves STASHcode 362. I'm not sure what to do, as setting l_use_arcldust to false should mean that this is not asked for.

Best wishes,

Andrew

Attempted to process ancillary with STASHcode: 362 however the prognostic will not be present in the output dump. Either remove ancil request or check that science selected in namelists is compatible with this ancil field.

Hi Grenville,
Hopefully I have fixed it. I had 'rg01_rs03_arcl_dust_anc' set to true.
I will update you later.
Thanks
Andrew
