UM workflow config workaround

Description
Hello,
I've successfully submitted and run suites from pumatest to ARCHER using the config workaround described here http://cms.ncas.ac.uk/blog/2020-05-26- My suite completed before the possible 5AM reset.
Unfortunately, when processing my data, I logged into espp1 on several terminals. ARCHER admin kicked me off and for the past 24 hours when I attempt to log into ARCHER, the "shared connection" is immediately closed. Could this be related to the workaround?
I've contacted ARCHER help ASAP but they have not been able to help yet.
Thanks,
Leighton

Grenville,
It's strange. I get a "Permission denied (publickey)" error, though I have not changed anything related to my keys since accessing the system using the workaround.
Does that make this any clearer?

You need to specify your user name
ssh lre@…

Grenville,
Thanks for the clarification. That allows me to login, using passphrase and password. But, the connection is not maintained once I log out.

It won't unless you make an entry in .ssh/config specifically for login1 — I'm just trying to narrow down the issue — can you still not login to login.archer.ac.uk?

Grenville,
That's correct. I can access ARCHER using lre@…, but not with login.archer.ac.uk

Delete
/tmp/ssh-socket-lre@…
& try again with login.archer.ac.uk

Grenville,
That's done the trick. I can now log in and out again, with the connection maintained. A new /tmp file is immediately created. Good to know I can use this solution if the problem arises again. Is that likely do you think?

Not sure - I don't know what happened to cause this.

Grenville,
No problem. It's working for now, so we can investigate further if the problem recurs. I appreciate the speedy advice.
Cheers,

I don't know what is going on here.
What happens if you try to login to a specific node, login2.archer.ac.uk for example?
