NETCDF not working in JULES

Reported by: fo196883 Owned by: pmcguire
Component: JULES Keywords: JULES, NETCDF

Description

Hello Patrick,

I have installed JULES vn5.1 and vn5.7 on my laptop and successfully compiled both.
However, vn5.7 only outputs ASCII files and no NETCDF4 files. I have tried changing the paths etc to no avail.

Could you please advise on what I may be doing wrongly?

Cheers,
Fred

Hi Frederick:
What command-line did you use to try to compile it with the netcdf library?
Or did you use a Rose/Cylc? suite?

Hello Patrick,

I use fcm make -j 2 -f etc/fcm-make/make.cfg --new to compile jules.

Hi Frederick:
Are you using the examples that are listed in here?:
http://jules-lsm.github.io/vn5.2/building-and-running/fcm.html

What is the path that you are using for JULES_NETCDF_PATH?

Are you using the intel or gfortran or some other compiler?
Are you using custom for the JULES_PLATFORM?

What machine are you using? Your own laptop? Or an institutional machine?

Thanks very much Patrick. I have realized my error.
I changed
export JULES_NETCDF=nonetcdf
to
export JULES_NETCDF=netcdf

Cheers,
Fred

Hi Frederick
I am glad to hear that you figured it out. Does it work now?
Can I create a job ticket for this at the NCAS/CMS Helpdesk?
I will try not to include private or sensitive information in that ticket, since the Helpdesk is publicly searchable.
