stash time profile TMEAN6

Description

Hello,

Sorry if this is a rather trivial question, but I am having trouble modifying the STASH time profile to enable me to output mean sea level pressure at times of 06, 12, 18, 00Z using the 'time mean' option and a meaning period of 6 hours.

This uses the standard time profile TMEAN6. I have tried, for example, outputting each start dump period but this gives output times of 3, 9, 15, 21, etc

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Which job id? It looks at first sight that you just need to adjust the start time.

Hi Willie,

Thanks for looking at this.

The job id is xdvhs. I had tried adjusting the start time but maybe I didn't do it correctly.

Hi Andrew,

This may be a question of interpretation. You are in effect averaging the pressure at 0 hours with the pressure at 6 hours. What time stamp do you give the result? The model has given 3 hrs. If it is going to do this, then you could try an offset of 108 i.e half of 216 timesteps. Then I believe it will use timesteps 108, 109,…,324 i.e. it will be 6 hours ± 3 and then the average should be time stamped six hours.

I hope that helps.

Hi Willie,

Thanks for looking into this.

OK, I now see that it is a simply a case of labelling, and that even though the field is labelled 3Z for example, it is averaged from 0Z to 6Z as I have asked.

So, please close this ticket.
