New makebc issue
Reported by: | danpeake | Owned by: | um_support |
---|---|---|---|
Component: | UM Model | Keywords: | makebc |
Cc: | Platform: | ||
UM Version: | 6.1 |
Description
I have been using the makebc program to generate LBCs for a LAM run, and it has started not working and throwing up the following error:
Segmentation fault! Fault address: 0x7ffe37137638
Fault address is 7213504968 bytes below the nearest valid
mapping boundary, which is at 0x7fffe508d000.
This is likely to have been caused by a stack overflow.
Use your shell's ulimit or limit command to see if your
stack size limit is too small.
It seems to fail when it tries to read in the second file to create LBCs from. Could anyone help me try and get it up and running again?
The files used are in /work/n02/n02/danpeake/GENERATE

I have the same problem with grenvilles makebc file and also the standard /work/n02/n02/hum/vn6.1/pathscale/utils/makebc version.

Dan
I'm looking at this. There is something odd going on - makebc behaves differently depending on where it is launched from. I can get it to run if launched from a particular directory in my space but not if launched from a different directory also in my space. I'll try to keep you posted.
