Ensemble run using HiGEM gave an error message and job gets terminated

Reported by: d.marathayil Owned by: simon
Component: UM Model Keywords: HiGEM ensemble run

UM Version: 6.1

Description

Hi,

I have a problem with the UMCT ensemble run.
I am using HiGEM to do my ensemble experiment. To do the ensemble run I followed the instruction given in http://ncas-cms.nerc.ac.uk/index.php/um-documentation/ncas-user-guides/1435-umcet. My experiment id is xfiu. The compilation job is xfiue and run job is xfiud. I could compile the model successfully. However, the run job gets terminated in few seconds. The output file is saved in the directory /work/n02/n02/marathayil/umui_out and the output file is ”xfiud000.xfiud.d10271.t230152.leave”.
It says it is not loading the executable and showing a message [1] /work/n02/n02/marathayil/xfiud/iod_2042/1/parexe.1: line 100: EUID: is read only.
Could you please help me to solve this problem?

Many thanks,
Deepthi

Hi Deepthi,

Try running you job again. Cray have changed the behaviour of aprun. Setting the readonly EUID and
UID environment variables now causes an error message. I've updated the gen_env.mu mod to
account for this.

Let me know if this works.

Simon.

Hi Simon,

The change in modification file helped me to get rid of the EUID read only problem. Even after that the ensemble run was getting terminated at its very early stage. From the output file we recognised it as a syntax error. In my job description, there was a back quote which was giving a problem in parexe. files.

Thanks,
Deepthi
