Hi Simon

The problem is knowing the provenance of files this old. I've no idea what's in this ancillary file other than it comes from a job which is an AMIPII job, which suggests it's what your looking for.

I still have the PCMDI ozone file used for AMIPII and a program to convert it into an ancillary file, so that could be used to make a new 19 level ozone file. Let me know if you want me to do this or if you want the code/data.

Hi jeff. I want to run on eddie. Could you send me the ancillary and your data? I'll check and if I think they are the same will use the ancillary?

Hi Simon

I've copied a file (~v1jcole/ozone_l19.tar.gz) onto eddie. This file contains the ozone ancillary from the umui job, a ozone ancillary made from the PCMDI data on hector, the difference between these files, the original PCMDI data and a program to convert this to ancillary format. Hopefully this will tell you all you need to know.

Jeff.

Hi Jeff,

I've computed the dobson units from the ozone_lev19 ancillary and compared them with Fig 1 of Wang et al. I think the data is the same. So thanks for your help and if others want to use AMIP ozone then ozone_lev19 is the one to use!
