Description

Hi,

my compile job xhiag fails during the extract phase. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I have tried to compile the same job on the Met Office system and it works fine.

it fails at a specific line, but it doesn't give any more information. this is the last line of the ext.log file which is attached:

svn info -r 32514 svn://puma/UM_svn/UM/branches/pkg/Config/vn7.8_PS27_UKV_Configuration/src@32514 failed (1) at
/home/um/fcm/bin/../lib/Fcm/ReposBranch.pm line 498

any suggestion?

Giovanni

Hi Giovanni,

You need to update the table of branches you are including to point to the equivalent branch on PUMA. Revision numbers in the PUMA repository are not the same as the Met Office one, also the name of the branch is slightly different.

Try changing it to be:

fcm:um_br/pkg/Config/VN7.8_PS27_UKV_Configuration/src

Note the uppercase "VN" in the branch name. And updating the revision number to be 7554. I believe this is equivlent revision number, but I can't see the Met Office repository, so you might want to check that this is indeed the equivalent revision number to 32514 by comparing the commit messages in both repositories.

Regards,
Ros.

Hi Ros,

thanks for the starting point. How do I check on the revision number? is there some kind of browser or repository of all the revisions committed? or do I need to check out a copy of the revision you mentioned and do it by hand?

cheers
Giovanni

Hi Giovanni,

Sorry I made an assumption that you had used a version of the UM in the FCM system before and that you therefore had already registered to use UM7.x+.

I will create you a Trac account with which to view the UM source code on PUMA and also give you write access to the code repository. Full details will be sent in a separate email.

Once you've logged into the UM Trac system at: http://puma.nerc.ac.uk/trac/UM[[br]]
Click "Browse Source" and then navigate down to UM/branches/pkg/Config and then select 7554 next to VN7.8_PS27_UKV_Configuration. This will show you all the changesets in the branch. Click on "Chgset 7554" and you will see that this equates to Met Office Changeset 33421.

So it looks like you might have to do a bit of investigation to see what the differences are. Maybe ask Emilie Carter (who created that branch) what she actually did. If you're still not sure let me know and I'll get a colleague with Met Office access to take a look.

Regards,
Ros.
