Often scientists want to run sensitivity experiments to understand model biases, using the assessment jobs as a baseline. Met Office scientists often complain that when collaborators claim to have run "GA3", a more detailed investigation often finds substantial differences between the collaborator's "GA3" and the Met Office's "GA3". We need to make sure we have the same baselines for our experiments.
CMS, in collaboration with the Met Office, are working towards making the Met Office UMUI jobs for the GA assessment jobs available on PUMA, under a single account (such as the UMUI account), and porting these jobs for use on MONSooN and ARCHER. The availability of these jobs will be widely advertised, such as on the PUMA mailing list. This will make it much easier to run sensitivity experiments.
