ppinfo

The ppinfo utility outputs all header information from the selected PP file.

Usage:

ppinfo [option] ppfile

where option can be one of

-ieee or -ieee32

PP format file is in 32 bit ieee format with standard fortran unix type record blocking

-ieee64

PP format file is in 64 bit ieee format with standard fortran unix type record blocking

-cray

PP format file is in 64 bit Cray format with Cray type record blocking

-crayieee64

PP format file is in 64 bit ieee format with Cray type record blocking

If no option command line argument is given ppinfo will attempt to work out the PP file format. There is normally no need to specify the file format as it will usually be correctly worked out, but if not it can be entered on the command line. The option of specifying the file format is only available on CRAY machines, all other machines will only be able to read PP format files in their native format. This should not be a problem as all Unix workstations will read, 32 bit ieee format with standard fortran unix type record blocking, which is the normal format for PP format files.
