Instructions for running GC5 on Archer2
Users are strongly recommended to use the standard GC5 workflows u-dk922 or u-da412. These are updated with each new UM release, and support running on Archer2 and Monsoon3.
To run on Archer2, take a copy of the base suite, then make the following changes:
- suite conf → Machine Options → site at which model is being run: Change from MetO Cray EX to Archer2
- suite conf → Account group for HPC tasks: Set to your n02 project code
- suite conf → Testing → Test restartability: On → Off
- postproc → Post Processing - common settings → archive_command: Moose → Archer2-Jasmin
If you wish to use PP Transfer:
- suite conf → Build and run → PP transfer: Off → On
- postproc → Archer2-JASMIN Archiving → Data Transfer -> transfer_dir: Set to your Jasmin space
You will also need to make sure you have followed the Globus setup instructions.
To run ozone redistribution:
- suite conf → Ozone Redistribution: false → true
- suite conf → Ozone Redistribution → Host machine for ozone redistribution: MetO Cray EX to Archer2
- suite conf → Ozone Redistribution → Primary archive source: Set to be blank
